Lok Satta isn't a new political experiment — it's a long-standing citizen reform movement with real legislative and electoral wins behind it.
Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, a former IAS officer (joined 1980, All-India Rank 4), resigns from government service and founds Lok Satta and the Foundation for Democratic Reforms (FDR) as a non-partisan citizen movement for governance reform.
The movement registers as the Loksatta Party to contest elections, while FDR continues its non-partisan civil-society work — including driving the Right to Information Act (2005) and championing India's Lokpal Bill (2009).
Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan is elected MLA from Kukatpally, Hyderabad. Over the term, he oversees ₹650+ crore in public works with zero corruption complaints, trains 5,000+ youth for employment, and improves sanitation in 70+ government schools.
